About Me π

π Hi there! I’m Gramma Noni Bordwell, an 80-year-young nomad chasing the perfect weather and collecting stories along the way. Born in White Earth, Minnesota, as the third of 12 children, I was raised on a farm full of animals πππ, and that’s where my journey began!
With one year of business college π under my belt, I headed off to work at the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) in Minneapolis in 1963. Fast forward to 1972, and life brought me to Alaska ποΈ with a temporary BIA job. There, I met the love of my life, my computer nerd husband, Ross π»β€οΈ. Together, we raised three amazing kids and made Alaska our home for many years.
β
After Ross retired in 2008 with over 40 years of government service, we bought a 1976 Blue Bird WanderLodge Motor Home π and hit the road, exploring the lower 48 states πΊπΈ. But... those 5 miles per gallon fuel costs were no joke! π So, we stumbled upon a carnival π‘ in Florida and worked there for five unforgettable years. Talk about a life of fun and adventure!
β
In 2013, we settled down in Albuquerque, New Mexico π΅, near our daughter Pepper, where Ross got great care at the Veterans Hospital. Sadly, he passed away in 2014 π. That’s when I decided to embrace a new chapter as a snowbird/nomad π¦ πΈ. Now, my life is all about chasing spring πΈ – summers in Alaska ποΈ, winters in Phoenix βοΈ, and visits to family in the Midwest π‘. Occasionally, I even jet off to see my son Danny and his Thai family, where ever he may be.βοΈπ.
β
Writing has always been my way of staying connected, so I started this blog to share my adventures, thoughts, and daily reports ππΈ. Each day, I create picture collages that capture my journey, because a photo can say more than words sometimes! π¨
β
Join me as I continue living my best life, one mile at a time ππ€οΈ. I hope you enjoy the stories, pictures, and everything in between. Life is an adventure, and I’m plan to continuing, happy, healthy and vibrant till the day I die!π
