š Good morningš How are you doing with your fall colors? I'm finding more up here in New England.!
š As I contemplate the mixed meaning of Columbus Day/Indian Heritage Day, I am ready to head for Bangor Maine.
š Yesterday I found my way back to the Bardwell Farm at 49 Main St. in Hatfield MA. I figured Harrison wouldn't be around, but neither was his dad. I chatted with B, the non-family produce stand attendant. She said her Grandfather is buried here.
š She hadn't seen any of the Bardwell family and it was past noon. Likely won't find them
today either as it is a holiday. So I wandered the area and the cemetery for an hour or so. And bought a ripe peach and some nectarines from their stand before heading back to my hotel. Got a biz card so I can text Harrison.
šš This morning's research tells me that the Bardwell Homestead was established in 1750 at 44 Main Street. The number 49, current Farm home was built in 1755 and Jeremiah Bardwell's home at 108 Main St. was built in 1790. I would have to go to the Historical Society or Clerks Office to get more details. This is fun - rabbit holesš°šš
š I found a bunch of Bardwell Family gravesites in the Main Street Cemetery. Took pics of most (all?) of them.. Will send collages next post. Meanwhile I have over 100 pictures in an album. Hope to find a way to save them somewhere handy without taking up phone memory!!
š Anyhow, my collages today include some articles I found online. And some of what I found wandering the neighborhood.
In addition to the produce stand in front of their farm house, there is a community garden, The First Congregational Church at 41 Main Street.Ā (The town and church were founded simultaneously in 1670.) Right next door is the Hatfield Museum and Library, built in 1894 and what I expect is a bunch of farm acreage, buildings and equipment surrounding the cemetery.
š So there you go... I thank you for your continued prayers for our family and others who hurt in so many ways. Please continue prayers that my flights to Omaha will go as scheduledāļø
š I hope we all get goodš“sleepš“ tonight. šÆTiger, š¦Pon, š§øĆri, š¢Buddy, šConnie, šMissy, šā⬠Hissy and š I send lovesš«¶ and hugsš¤
